Company Aims

The world around us is changing at a faster pace than ever before, and the Mail works hard at being up to date and relevant to local people’s lives.

To make this happen, we have four broad company aims, which are at the heart of everyone’s job role, and communicated regularly to all staff.

Continually improve our products

Improve our products

Our training is wide-ranging, comprehensive and up to date, and we are committed to the ongoing, personal development of our staff. Changes and improvements for print and online publications are made after research by our Marketing department with local people and businesses. Staff in various departments have been instrumental in making these changes, which often involve learning new skills.

Deliver response for advertisers

Our website

A full creative and advisory service is offered to customers by the Advertising department, targeting potential consumers with our range of publications. Our website and electronic communications work hand in hand with our print products, to give advertisers the most flexible and best opportunities for response.

Attract and retain good quality staff

We aim to stay in the top third of local employers, for salaries and career development. Our newly refurbished main offices on Blundells Corner, Hull, reflects our commitment to this aim.

The Corner Restaurant

Our training is wide-ranging, comprehensive and up to date, and we are committed to the ongoing, personal development of our staff.

We put much effort into keeping all staff honestly informed and regularly involved with developments and progress, through one-on-one communication, team briefings and a variety of company newsletters and feedback sites.

Put value back into our community

Hull Daily Mail volunteers

Various staff are members of local business and education organisations, as part of their job role. We also have partnerships with local community leaders, actively supporting the regeneration of our region.

Through our partnership with Business in the Community, staff volunteers contribute to school reading schemes and community improvement projects.

Our company aims reinforce the clear and flexible way we operate our business.
